Pixar has released another new character in Cars 2 called "Crabby the Boat" You may remember him from the beginning of the Cars 2 trailer out on the ocean carrying Finn McMissile. He will be voiced by Sig Hansen, the actual Captain of the Northwestern boats on his Discovery TV Show "Deadliest Catch". Crabby's whole design is based after Sig Hansen's boats, with the word Northwestern on his sides and the initials in the front "SH", standing for Sig Hansen's father named Sverre Hansen, who built the Northwestern boat.Crabby is a crab-catching boat who works in the Northern Pacific. He gets payed by Finn McMissile to take him to a precise location. However, after getting at the determined place, a big battleship intercepts him and prompts him to get away. Crabby is forced to obey, without noticing Finn has left him and jumped on the battleship. Crabby's design is based off of Captain Sig Hansen's actual boat, the "Northwestern" that is on his Deadliest Catch show.

Miles Axlerod
His design resembles an extremly modified version of a Range Rover His license plate is ALT NRG, which stands for "alternative energy". Axlerod is also the car behind the World Grand Prix race, a three-country race he created that attracts the world's top athletes—but it's really an excuse to show off his new wonder-fuel, Allinol. Though at first Professor Zundapp appears to be the main villain, it is revealed near the end of the film by Mater that Axlerod is actually the villain and was part of a plot to turn the world against alternative energy and have them rely on gasoline, bringing profits to the lemons and himself due to the fact they owned the largest untapped oil reserves in the world.

Professor Zundapp
He is modeled as a Zündapp Janus, a micro-car in which back passengers sit facing backward. His license plate is BAD GA 58, which appears to be a pun on "bad guy". The 58 is one of the years the Zündapp Janus was made. "Professor Z, aka "The Professor," is not the main villain nor is the leader of the lemon cars. As it turns out, he is actually working for Miles Axlerod, who he thinks is a mastermind lemon, since Miles disguises himself. Since Professor Z is a scientist, Miles has him invent an electro magnetic pulse device which is disguised as a World Grand Prix camera, to use on the racers that use the gas Allinol. This was all part of a plan to turn the world against alternative energy and have all cars rely on gasoline, bringing profits to the lemon cars and himself due to the fact that they own the largest untapped oil reserves in the world.

"WASABI MATER"
While in Tokyo, Mater is driving around looking for free food. He asks the Sushi Chef what he has that's free. He doesn't respond however, as Mater quickly reacts when he sees the wasabi, mistaking it for pistachio ice cream. He asks for some, and the Chef gives him a small morsel, but Mater asks for more and more, until the Chef finally gives him a very large scoop. Mater then tries the wasabi, and burns his mouth badly.
- Mater says: Hey, what do you got here that's free? How about that pistachio ice cream?
- No, no. Wasabi.
- Oh, same old, same old. What's up with you?
- That looks delicious.
- Uh, a little more please. It is free, right? Keep it coming. A little more. Come on, let's go, it's free! You're getting there. Scoop, scoop. There you go! Now that's a scoop of ice cream.

Tony is one of the heavily-equipped combat ships who works for Professor Z. He serves as a guard and transportation for the Professor and the lemons. He is first seen in the beginning of the film, where he confronts Crabby, who has Finn McMissile aboard him, and tells him to turn around while pointing his lazer weapon at him which forces Crabby to leave. Without Tony knowing, Finn McMissile hitches a ride on him where Tony arrives at the oil rigs. He is later seen towards the end in London , when Professor Z is trying to escape, yelling for the Professor to hurry and get aboard him. Finn McMissile stops the Professor, which forces Tony to use a magnetic device pulling the Professor to him. McMissile then shoots out several mini-bombs out of his wheels which cling on to Tony's magnet, resulting in a huge explosion killing Tony

In Cars 2, since Mater plays a role in a spy affair, he is added several gadgets, however not as spectacular as those of Finn McMissile or Holley Shiftwell. Since Mater is not familiar with his gadgets, they are activated by voice commands.

Deployable machine guns: One on each side.
- Twin rockets: Give Mater a powerful boost, and can serve to direct himself when gliding.
- Deployable paraglider: Of an orange color, it permits Mater to glide in the air. When used with his rockets, this gadget permits Mater to direct himself more precisely.
- Deployable holographic disguise emitter: Disguised as the flashing light on the roof. The device instantaneously makes a disguise all around Mater, and may even simulate supplementary volume or hide some.

Francesco Bernoulli
Francesco Bernoulli grew up in the shadow of the famous Monza race course in Italy where he and his friends would sneak onto the track and race the famous Pista di Alta Velocita bank turn. He was an instant winner on the amateur circuit and soon became an international Formula Racer champion. The ladies love Francesco's open wheels, youngsters look up to his winning spirit and fellow racers envy his speed. But Francesco's biggest fan is Francesco himself, as evidenced by his racing number. As the most famous race car in Europe, #1 Francesco is a favorite to win the World Grand Prix, which also makes him Lightning McQueen's chief rival.
- Francesco's last name, Bernoulli, is a reference to Daniel Bernoulli, a Dutch/Swiss mathematician who published ground-breaking theories on fluid dynamics and the conservation of energy. Francesco's pit crew chief is Giuseppe Motorosi.
- On Francesco's side is a logo presenting the letters FR in a design similar to the F1 logo. It is the abreviation of "Formula racer". Francesco's design seems like a typical modern Formula One design. Francesco's tires are Pasta Potenza Rotelli Tires. He is the third Italian character to appear in the film, after Guido and Luigi.

Max Schnell
Max Schnell started as a humble production sedan from Stuttgart, Germany. An avid amateur racer, Max would practice alone in the back roads of the dense Black Forest—a trek that eventually caught the eye of a racing team owner. Soon Max was on a professional circuit, bearing number 4, and as his horsepower increased, he converted himself to carbon fiber, dropping his weight and getting into prime racing shape. Known as the "World's Greatest Rally Car number 6 Raoul ÇaRoule was born in Alsace, France. Raoul joined the famous Cirque du Voiture French circus where he learned Gymkhana -- a graceful, drift-filled motorsport that taught him pinpoint timing and an unparalleled ability to navigate tricky courses with ease. He's the first car to ever win nine consecutive rallies. Nigel Gearsley
Nigel Gearsley from Warwickshire, England, is an Aston Martin DB9R racer bearing number 9. He got his start racing the Speed Hill Climb—a unique, completely uphill race through the Aston Hill Mountain Area that his family has run for generations. Nigel's racing career has been anything but an uphill challenge, as he's won nearly every start in the past few years on the Grand Touring Sports Car circuit, including a string of podiums at Nurburgring and Le Mans.
